Feb. 25, 2010  -- Chinese language fever has spread all over the world in recent years. In this tidal wave, Chinese characters are not only a carrier of knowledge and culture, they are also becoming a universal language.

The "Kaohsiung Chinese Character Arts Festival" will overstep Chinese characters' basic writing and reading functions, and change the characters into elements for art and fashion design. The festival will also arrange a Chinese character market and a Chinese character exhibition, hoping to create a wave of Chinese character fashion.

The "Kaohsiung Chinese Character Arts Festival" exhibition is held in the Pier-2 Art Center. Chinese character art works will be exhibited throughout the entire center.

From February 24 to March 7, the contents of the exhibition will cover Chinese characters-related technology, fashion, space, design, product development and decoration art, and visitors will be able to admire the excellent art works created by over 100 artists at the same time.

The "Kaohsiung Chinese Character Arts Festival" mainly consists of 5 themed pavilions – the "Chinese Character Future Pavilion," "Chinese Character Entertainment Pavilion," "Chinese Character Moral Building Pavilion," “Chinese Character Writing and Calligraphy Pavilion," and the "Chinese Character Tactual Sensation Pavilion." It also contains many additional activities such as "Chinese Character Art Cabinet," "Snack Street," "Chinese Character Theory of Relativity," "Experts' Lecture Room" and "Great Han People."

The festival will adopt multimedia materials and use different points of view to study the art of Chinese characters, and harmoniously mix the time-honored Chinese characters with innovation and design. The festival will be an archaistic and faddish, and old and modern ceremony of creation.
