January 29, 2010 -- Under conditions of existing cultivated land subsidence, Hongzhuang Village of Lieshan District, Huaibei City, Anhui determined a scientific development road-map for maintaining livelihood on subsided land creating benefits from adjustment of industrial structure. The village is devoted to carrying out measures like developing aquiculture, reclaiming land and constructing daylight energy-saving greenhouses. Through these efforts, the income from every mu of land increased from less than 1,000 yuan to today's 8,000 yuan and the village was awarded the titled of "National Civilized Creation and Advanced Construction Village (Township)".

Hongzhuang Village is close to the urban area of Huaibei, and is surrounded by urban areas and mines, so it takes enrichment of the resident's lives as the development direction. The villagers began to construct daylight energy-saving greenhouses and make great efforts to develop efficient ecological agriculture. Presently there are 510 daylight energy-saving greenhouses in Hongzhuang Village, which produce 2.5 million kg of vegetables every year.

Meanwhile, Hongzhuang Village is developing a livestock and poultry breeding industry by using limited land. Today Hongzhuang Village has constructed some village-operating enterprises like Jiabao Big Farm and Hongzhuang Pigeon Factory. Tianbei Foods Co. Ltd was established through attracting investment.

Hongzhuang Village is becoming rich, and the environment is being improved. Presently the rate of greenery in the village has reached 40 percent.
