Luoyang, March 17, 2009 -- The 2009 World Stamp Exhibition and the 27th Peony Exhibition will kick off in Luoyang, central China's Henan province, on April 10, according to Luoyang's vice mayor Wang Lilin, who made the announcement at a news conference yesterday.

The opening ceremony of the two exhibitions will be launched at 8 p.m, at the Luoyang gymnasium center. World renowned singer Sarah Brightman, who sang the theme song You and Me with Chinese tenor Liu Huan at the opening ceremony at last year's Olympic Games, and Kung Fu star Jackie Chan and other pop singers will also attend the ceremony.

Luoyang, a city with a long history and profound culture, was once to be the capital of 13 dynasties. The peony is the floral symbol of Luoyang, which will be on display in abundance at the exhibition.
