In 2007, the total import and export value of Tibet hit US$393 million, a rise of 19.8 percent over the previous year. This included US$326 million in imports, an increase of 46.8 percent; and US$67 million of exports, a fall of 36.8 percent. Tibet exported US$292.89 million worth of products to the rest of Asia, an increase of 38.5 percent; US$10.43 million worth of products to Europe, a rise of 64 percent; US$16.98 million to North America, up 515.2 percent; and US$270.000 to Oceania, down 37.2 percent.

Border trade reached US$248.92 million, or 63.3 percent of total trade value, an increase of 41.3 percent. This included US$245.85 million of exports, an increase of 43.3 percent, and US$3.07 million of imports, a fall of 33.3 percent.

Tibet approved 19 directly foreign-funded projects. The direct foreign investment used on agreement reached US$41.73 million and the factual foreign ivestment was US$24.18 million.
