Of all colors, red is mostly lively and buoyant. Red, the color of fire and the sun, is the color of vigor and excitement.
Red is the symbol of China and red is the prettiest color in the minds of the Chinese people. Even the ancient time, the lives of the Chinese people have been filled with all sorts of red themes, ranging from the red decoration on all occasions of celebrations, the large red lanterns conveying a sense of peace and happiness, red walls signifying power and dignity, to the expression of people's emotions and thinking in color of red. Perhaps the only Chinese in this world are capable of giving a myraid implications to the color of red at great liberry.
The Chinese red has been a heavy sedimentation of the 5000 years old Chinese culture. It has been deeply rooted in the Chinese soul. It has been the color totem to the Chinese generation after generation.

In Southern China, there are vast areas that have red earth grown under the warm and rainy conditions.
The red land in Dongchuan, Yunnan Province, is believed to be the most grand red earth in world aside from Rio de Janeiro of Brazil. In Dongchuan, layers of red earth ladder field can be seen in a area withe a diameter of several hundred kilometers. Because local people usually rotate planting on some parts of the red earth while idling the other parts, the green agriculture field looks like inlaid in the red field. Adding to the different flowers of various plants in blossom in turns in different seasons, the land is decorated with different colors of red, green, white and yellow. The mixture of the color makes a strong color pad and as if it is paved to the end of the land.

Danxia geomorphology refers the solitary peak and cliff rocks formed after the red gravel rocks have long been weathered away and eroded. Currently, there are altogether 1200 such geomorphology in the world. Among them, more than 700 are in China.

The Chinese feudal emperors in the past showed a particular love for red. The Former Imperial Palace in Beijing which consists of nearly a thousand rooms covering a total building area of 720000 square meters are in red and yellow. The red-painted gates and yellow-glazed tiles give the Forbidden City a majestic view when look at a distance. Inside the pavillions, all the pillars are painted red to shouw the imperial power and solemnity. Red was also the color in which Chinese emperors wrote mandares on reports from officials, for red was considered color of authority. |
