Back in the 1984, Professor WANG Diequan first introduced me to a type of small print art called Exlibris. With the help and direction of Professor Wang I produced several art pieces myself, I then participated in the National Exlibris fair, through time I produced more art works, however I haven’t fully understood it.

Art itself just like every thing else with life, it has a gradual and complicated process reaching its maturity. Rarely will a good artwork be produced without time and effort and lack of good taste. Like the ancient saying: “Walk a thousand miles, Read thousand books” this focuses on the importance of experience and a good eye.

In 1996, along with the China Exlibris association representatives, we attended the 26th FISAE Congress held in the Czech Republic. This trip is what truly opened my eyes, the amazing things behind this unique art. Artists from over 60 countries gathered together, interacting not with languages but with art itself. During this Congress meeting, the displays, the interactions, the exciting atmosphere was very overwhelming. I met with some very talented artists, had a chance to witness the exquisite pieces from all over the world, I’ve gotten to fully understand the meaning behind true passion of the artists, and from then on I fell in love with this type of art. Throughout the years of continuous attendance to the Exlibris Congress, expos, and numerous interactions, I was inseparable with this art; it has become one of the most important things in my life. With dream, there is hope: in order for more Exlibris enthusiasts to be able to see these amazing artworks, I have opened up the “Dong Xiaozhuang International Ex-Libris Art Collection” it works as an interaction platform for the artists worldwide.

In 2008, the 32nd FISAE Congress was held in Beijing was a success. It gave me an opportunity to invite the finalists to Chengdu the Sichuan Art Museum for an exhibition. I personally think, the current progress in the culture interaction is something that gives us a better knowledge of what’s out there, and that’s something very crucial to us.

To be able to invited the group of recognized artists to exhibit their artworks in Chengdu, the Exlibris Seminar of China Artists Association, Sichuan Artists Association, Sichuan Art Museum, Shuohai International Exlibris(Graphic) Art Collection, Art Cafe, Mr. FU liMing along with other individuals who have been very supportive from the beginning of planning until the end. I would like to express my gratitude and appreciation to everyone! Due to hastiness in editing this Art Album, there may be inadequacy, thank you for understanding!
