Brief Introduction:
The Pala Manor is the best preserved among the 12 Tibetan serf ower manors. The old manor, burned down by the British invaders in 1904, was rebuilt in 1937 in Jiangga Village, one kilometer east of Jiangzi. Before the democratic reform in 1959 there were 131 people in this village and 20% of whom are serfs and same of them are still living here now. The owner of this manor Pala Zaxiwangjiu escaped abroad in 1959 but his son Luobuciren stays until today. This chapter concentrates on the life of the serf owner and the serfs, documenting the great changes that the manor has undergone and the promotion of living conditions of the villagers.
